I really should have taken a picture of these "buffalo spring rolls." My favorite local bar & grill changed owners a few months ago. To their credit, they haven't changed much, in terms of the menu, and personnel. They have made some minor changes -- a new monthly specials menu to go with the old menus for kiddies, adults, and the early bird specials.
They finally got around to renaming the place to what we locals called it for short, anyway, complete with a new sign over the front door, but half the menus still use the old name on them.
The one item on the "monthly specials" item that intrigued me was "Buffalo Chicken Spring Rolls." We ordered some for takeout the day after we visited in person for a birthday dinner. They were very tasty, but I never expected the spicy seasoning to be on the outside of the wrapper, rather than on the chicken shreds inside. The order came as two egg roll sized things, each cut in half, with blue cheese dressing for dipping or pouring, as you wish.
I can make spring rolls at home, and do, fairly often. Usually, I go with a filling of shredded cabbage and carrots, with shrimp, but you could put anything you want within those rice paper wrappers. I didn't have any leftover chicken, so, hey, why not try those from the resto-bar? They were fine, but I would not make a habit of ordering them.
